Abstract
A control system for a work machine automatically actuates a revolution braking device when a work implement is driven with no operation of a revolving body.

A control system for a work machine comprising:
- a revolving body configured to be able to rotate about a revolution center;
- a work implement attached to the revolving body;
- and
- a revolution braking device configured to stop revolution of the revolving body,
- wherein the revolution braking device is actuated when the revolving body is revolving during execution of automatic excavation control for driving the work implement.

A control method for a work machine including a revolving body configured to be able to rotate about a revolution center, a work implement attached to the revolving body, and a revolution braking device configured to stop revolution of the revolving body, the control method comprising:
- executing automatic excavation control for driving the work implement without causing the revolving body to revolve;

- actuating the revolution braking device during execution of the automatic excavation control.
