Abstract
A laundry machine includes a tub, a drum, and a hood. The tub has a floor. The tub defines a drain along the floor. The drum is rotatably disposed within the tub and above the floor. The hood is secured to the floor below the drum. The hood is disposed over the drain. The hood defines an opening along a first end. The opening extends upward from the floor. The hood is operable to receive fluid via the opening while the drum is rotating. The hood is also operable to direct the fluid toward the drain.
Claims20
A laundry machine comprising:
- a tub having a floor, the floor (i) extending downward along a helical path from an upper region toward a lower region and (ii) defining a drain along the lower region;
- and
- a hood (i) secured to the floor along the lower region, (ii) disposed over the drain, (iii) extending along the helical path from a first end to a second end of the hood, (iv) having an upper panel, and (v) defining an opening along the first end between the floor and the upper panel, and wherein the hood is operable to (a) receive fluid via the opening during operation of the laundry machine and (b) direct the fluid within a channel defined between the floor and the upper panel toward the drain.
A laundry machine comprising:
- a tub (i) having a floor and (ii) defining a drain along the floor;
- a drum rotatably disposed within the tub and above the floor;
- and
- a hood (i) secured to the floor below the drum, (ii) disposed over the drain, (iii) extending from a first end to a second end, and (iv) defining an opening along the first end, wherein the opening extends upward from the floor and faces opposite to a direction of rotation of the drum, and wherein the hood is operable to (a) receive fluid via the opening while the drum is rotating and (b) direct the fluid toward the drain.
A laundry machine comprising:
- a tub having a base defining a drain;
- and
- a scoop (i) disposed within the tub and over the drain and (ii) having an open end, wherein the open end extends upward from the base, and wherein the scoop is operable to (a) receive fluid via the open end and (b) direct the fluid toward the drain.
