Abstract

A system for shrinking an article of laundry includes a laundry appliance. The laundry appliance includes a cabinet and a drum rotatably mounted within the cabinet. The drum defines a chamber within which an article of laundry is received for drying. Additionally, the system includes a user interface and a controller operatively coupled to the user interface. The controller is configured to display a representation of the article of laundry on the user interface. Furthermore, the controller is configured to receive an input from the user interface to decrease a size of the representation of the article of laundry displayed to a target size. Moreover, the controller is configured to perform a drying cycle of laundry appliance based on the target size of the representation of the article of laundry, whereby the article of laundry is shrunk to a size proportional to the target size.
