Abstract
This disclosure relates to novel biobased lubricating compositions with high oxidative stability for use in all lubricating applications such as gears, motors, and hydraulics. More particularly, lubricating compositions comprising a base oil and one or more additives and the base oil comprises greater than 10% by weight of one or more of the compounds of Formula 1: wherein n is an integer from 2-6; R is C1-C22 alkyl; R2 is C3-C12 alkyl; R3 is hydrogen or C1-C10 alkyl.
Claims33
A lubricating composition comprising a base oil and one or more additives wherein:
- the base oil comprises 10-100% by weight of one or more compounds of the Formula 1:
- wherein n is an integer from 2-6;
- R is C1-C22 alkyl;
- R2 is C3-C12 alkyl;
- R3 is hydrogen or C1-C10 alkyl;
- and wherein the compounds of Formula 1 have an Acid Value (AV) of less than 0.2 KOH/g.

A lubricating composition comprising a base oil and additives wherein the base oil comprises 10-100% by weight of one or more compounds of the Formula 3:
- wherein n is an integer from 2-6 and R is C1-C22 alkyl;
- and wherein the compounds of Formula 3 have an Acid Value (AV) of less than 0.2 KOH/g.
