Colloidal silica and method for producing same

Abstract

An object of the present invention is to provide colloidal silica in which a silyl group having one or more amino groups is introduced inside particles and in which the content of fine particles is low. An object of the present invention is to reduce fine particles generated in a shell formation reaction in the production of colloidal silica containing core-shell silica particles in which a silyl group having one or more amino groups is introduced inside the particles. The present invention provides colloidal silica in which a silyl group having one or more amino groups is introduced inside particles, in which the proportion of the number of fine particles contained in the colloidal silica is less than 5% based on the total number of particles, and the density of silanol groups on the surface of the particles of the colloidal silica is 4.0 groups/nm2 or less.
