Abstract
A fumed silica for a rubber composition has a tap density of 200 g/L or more, and also has a pore peak radius of 22 nm or more and a pore volume of 1.6 mL/g or more when measured by applying the BJH method to an adsorption isotherm obtained by nitrogen adsorption. It is preferable that the BET specific surface area of the fumed silica for a rubber composition is 180 m2/g to 500 m2/g inclusive.
Claims4
A fumed silica for rubber composition having a tap density of 200 g/L or greater, a pore peak radius of 22 nm or larger obtained by applying a BJH method to a nitrogen absorption isotherm, and a pore volume of 1.6 mL/g or greater.
A method for compressing a fumed silica, wherein uniaxial compression is performed to a fumed silica having a tap density of less than 200 g/L to obtain a compressed fumed silica having a tap density of 200 g/L or greater, a pore peak radius of 22 nm or larger obtained by applying a BJH method to a nitrogen absorption isotherm, and a pore volume of 1.6 mL/g or greater.
