Abstract
Disclosed is a monoclonal antibody, MAb51-31 mAb, and its fragments and derivatives that recognize a conformational epitope of human integrin α3/β1 (ITGα3/β1) complex, which is highly expressed on solid tumors but very low or absent in normal tissues. This specificity enhances its potential as a diagnostic and therapeutic agent while minimizing off-target effects. The anti-ITGα3/β1 mAb and its fragments and derivatives can be conjugated to cytotoxic drug moieties to form antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), to inhibit tumor growth in human and animals.
