Claims15
A method for inhibiting proliferation of cancer cells, the method comprising contacting the cancer cells with a pharmaceutical formulation in an amount effective to reduce cell viability, wherein the pharmaceutical formulation comprises a compound RNV-125 (Compound 8), having the IUPAC name 4-Bromo-2-[(1-hydroxymethyl-2-methyl-propylimino)-methyl]-phenol, and having the following formula:
A pharmaceutical formulation comprising a RNV-125 (Compound 8), having the IUPAC name 4-Bromo-2-[(1-hydroxymethyl-2-methyl-propylimino)-methyl]-phenol, and having the following formula:
- and a pharmaceutically acceptable carrier, formulated to inhibit the proliferation of cancer cells.
A method of inhibiting proliferation of human breast cancer cells, the method comprising contacting a human breast cancer cell line selected from MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, MDA-MB-453, BT-20, and SK-BR-3 with Compound 8 (RNV-125) having the IUPAC name 4-Bromo-2-[(1-hydroxymethyl-2-methyl-propylimino)-methyl]-phenol, and having the following formula:
- at a concentration of from 0.01 μM to about 30 μM, wherein Compound 8 (RNV-125) exhibits an IC50 of less than 5 μM in said cell line.
