Abstract
Disclosed are amino, halo-substituted cyclohexene or cyclohexane carboxylic acid compounds. The disclosed compounds and compositions thereof may be utilized in methods for modulating ornithine aminotransferase (OAT) activity, including methods for treating diseases or disorders associated with OAT activity or expression such as cell proliferative diseases and disorders.

A compound of the following formula or a dissociated form, a non-protonated form, a zwitterion form, or a salt thereof:
- wherein
- a double bond is present between the α and ζ carbons, or between the α and β carbons, or not present between the α and ζ carbons and the α and β carbons;
- X is CR1R2 or C═CR1R2;
- and
- R1 and R2 are independently hydrogen or halo, providing at least one of R1 and R2 is halo.
