Abstract
A method for production of clinker-free sustainable cementitious binders, low-clinker cementitious binders, clinker-based cementitious binders with enhanced properties, and geopolymer cements through fine grinding of clinker, basalt and/or other cementitious materials with the addition of carbon nanomaterials to the material being fine ground. Resulting binders can serve as an alternative to the conventional clinker-based cementitious binders, either on their own or in combination with other cementitious binders.
Claims18
A method for producing a cementitious binder, the method comprising fine grinding of cementitious materials, wherein:
- the cementitious materials include at least one of basalt or clinker;
- a carbon nanomaterial additive is added to the cementitious materials to be fine ground in the amount of 0.01-2.0% by weight (wt. %) of dry substance of CNM particles relative to cementitious materials;
- the retention of the resulting fine ground cementitious materials on a 80 μm sieve does not exceed 1%;
- and
- the specific surface area of the particles in the resulting finely ground cementitious material, as determined by the Blaine method, is at least 3,000-5,000 cm2/g.
