Abstract
The present invention refers to a landing gear fairing system comprising an annular wall comprising fastening means, a first and a second split coupling elements, and a first and second connecting members, and a method of assembling parts for landing gear. With the use of the invention, it is possible to install the parts in landing gears without the need to remove the wheels, facilitating access to the other components of the landing gears and reducing costs and time required for maintenance.
Claims6
A landing gear fairing system comprising:
- an annular housing comprising fastening means at its circumferential ends;
- at least one split coupling element. comprising an upper portion, a lower portion and two fastening projections;
- at least one connecting member;
- in which:
- the fastening means of the annular housing are connectable to the fastening projections, and to at least one connecting member;
- and
- the at least one coupling element is attachable to a landing gear shaft between their respective upper and lower portions.
A method for assembling a landing gear fairing system, the landing gear fairing system including an annular housing;
- at least one split coupling element including an upper portion, a power portion and two fastening projections;
- at least one connecting member in which (i) the fastening means of the annular housing are connectable to the fastening projections, and to at least one connecting member, and (ii) the at least one coupling element is attachable to a landing gear shaft between their respective upper and lower portions, wherein the assembly method comprises:
- (a) positioning the fairing system on the landing gear shaft so that the landing gear shaft is positioned between the respective upper and lower portions of the at least one coupling element;
- and
- b) connecting the fastening means of the annular housing to the fastening projections, and to the at least one connecting member.
