Abstract
A snow vehicle includes a vehicle body and a member. The vehicle body includes a forward frame and a tunnel. The member includes a tubular support and a first end secured to the forward frame. The forward frame includes a tube extending downward and rearward from a steering column mount. The tube of the forward frame is secured with the tubular support to define a continuous tube extending from the steering column mount to the member.
Claims20
A running board assembly for a snow vehicle, comprising:
- a support member configured to be positioned outboard of a tunnel of the snow vehicle;
- and
- a foot support member having an inboard side and an outboard side,
- wherein the inboard side is configured to be removably secured to the tunnel or to a support bracket secured to the tunnel,
- wherein the outboard side defines a channel extending along the foot support member and configured to receive the support member therein,
- wherein the outboard side includes a plurality of retaining members extending toward an opening of the channel and configured to removably retain the foot support member to the support member, and
- wherein the foot support member is removable from the support member independently of the support member.
A foot support member for a snow vehicle, comprising:
- a first rail defining an inboard side of the foot support member;
- a second rail defining an outboard side of the foot support member;
- and
- a plurality of cross members extending between the first rail and the second rail,
- wherein the second rail at least partially defines a channel extending along the outboard side of the foot support member and having an opening configured to receive a support member therein, and
- wherein the second rail includes a plurality of retaining members configured to removably retain the support member within the channel.
A method of assembling one of a plurality of snow vehicle running board configurations, the method comprising:
- providing a common foot support member having an inboard side and an outboard side, the outboard side defining a channel configured to receive a support member;
- selectively securing the common foot support member to a first support bracket or to a second support bracket that is different from the first support bracket;
- securing a first support member to the common foot support member when the common foot support member is secured to the first support bracket, or securing a second support member to the common foot support member when the common foot support member is secured to the second support bracket;
- and
- positioning the common foot support member at a first position relative to a tunnel when secured with the first support bracket or at a second position relative to the tunnel when secured with the second support bracket, wherein the first position is different from the second position.
