Abstract
A power supply. Embodiments comprise a first load, that optionally includes a battery, an alternator, a switch, and a DC/AC converter. The alternator is connected in series to the first load. The switch is configured to receive power control signals, and to couple the first load and alternator to the DC/AC converter.

A power supply, comprising:
- a first load, wherein the first load optionally includes a battery;
- an alternating current (AC) machine connected in series to the first load;
- and
- a switch configured to receive power control signals and to couple the first load and AC machine to a direct current (DC)/AC converter.
