Abstract
An alcohol measurement apparatus and a method thereof are provided. The alcohol measurement apparatus includes an inlet formed in a vehicle and configured to receive a first gas in the vehicle; a shutter provided on the inlet and configured to open to allow intake of the first gas through the inlet or close to prevent intake of the first gas through the inlet; an alcohol sensor connected, via a pipe, to the inlet and configured to measure alcohol content of the first gas received via the inlet; and a control circuit provided in the vehicle and configured to control, based on a predetermined measurement condition, the shutter to open or close.
Claims20
An alcohol measurement apparatus comprising:
- an inlet formed in a vehicle and configured to receive a first gas in the vehicle;
- a shutter provided on the inlet and configured to open to allow intake of the first gas through the inlet or close to prevent intake of the first gas through the inlet;
- an alcohol sensor connected, via a pipe, to the inlet and configured to measure alcohol content of the first gas received via the inlet;
- and
- a control circuit provided in the vehicle and configured to control, based on a predetermined measurement condition, the shutter to open or close.
A method performed by an alcohol measurement apparatus of a vehicle, the method comprising:
- determining, based on sensing data of at least one sensor of the vehicle, whether a predetermined measurement condition is met;
- controlling, based on whether the predetermined measurement condition is met, a shutter to open or close, wherein the shutter is provided on an inlet connected to an alcohol sensor, and wherein the inlet is formed in the vehicle;
- measuring, via the alcohol sensor and based on the shutter being closed, alcohol content of a first gas received via the inlet;
- and
- outputting, based on the measured alcohol content, a signal indicating the measured alcohol content.
