Corrugated paperboard box making machine

A corrugated paperboard box making machine, comprising:

• a sheet feeder that feeds out corrugated paperboard sheets one by one;
• a printer that prints on the corrugated paperboard sheets;
• a creaser unit that performs creasing on the corrugated board sheets;
• a slotter unit that performs slotting on the corrugated board sheets;
• and
• a controller configured to control the sheet feeder, the printer, the creaser unit, and the slotter unit,
• wherein:
• the sheet feeder comprises a feed-out mechanism that feeds out a lowermost corrugated paperboard sheet among corrugated paperboard sheets stacked in the sheet feeder, a feed roll that further feeds out the corrugated paperboard sheet fed out from the feed-out mechanism, a feed-out mechanism drive motor that drives the feed-out mechanism, and a feed roll drive motor that rotationally drives the feed roll;
• and
• the slotter unit comprises an upper slotter to which a slotter blade that performs slotting on the corrugated paperboard sheet is attached, a lower slotter formed with a groove that is fittable with the slotter blade of the upper slotter, and a slotter drive motor that rotationally drives the upper and lower slotters,
• wherein the controller is configured, when performing a replacement work-free order change in the corrugated paperboard box making machine, to:
• after completion of production of a current order, control the feed-out mechanism drive motor to deactivate the feed-out mechanism so as to stop a corrugated paperboard sheet feeding operation, while controlling the slotter drive motor to enable the upper and lower slotters to continue rotating;
• after completion of setup works which are preparatory works for production of a next order in the sheet feeder, the printer, the creaser unit, and the slotter unit, control the feed-out mechanism drive motor to drive the feed-out mechanism so as to resume the corrugated paperboard sheet feeding operation and start production of the next order;
• and
• during a period from the completion of production of the current order to the start of production of the next order, control the feed roll drive motor to stop rotation of the feed roll before a sheet setting work in which an operator sets corrugated paperboard sheets in the sheet feeder and to resume the rotation of the feed roll after completion of the sheet setting work.
