Apparatus for collecting scrap from a machine tool

An apparatus for collecting mechanical scrap coming out from a machine tool, the apparatus comprising:

• an upwardly open cup-shaped container centered on a respective vertical container axis;
• a circular plate-shaped disk centered on a respective vertical disk axis, the container having a bottom wall, a vertical side wall, an accumulation surface, and a circumferential perimeter, the disk being within container with the vertical disk axis coaxial with the vertical container axis, the disk further having an external diameter smaller than an inner diameter defined by an inner surface of the side wall of the container in order to form between the circumferential perimeter and the inner surface an annular opening having a predetermined radial width smaller than a minimum size of the scrap being collected, the radial width being such as to prevent the scrap being collected from passing through the annular opening, the radial width being such as to allow the free passage of liquids and/or shavings and/or other similar elements having smaller dimensions than those of the scrap to be collected;
• and
• means for rotating the disk about the vertical disk axis with respect to the container.
