An intracavitary applicator for radiation oncology includes an elongated body that can be inserted into the vaginal canal of an individual. The elongated body includes a proximal end, a distal end, and a plurality of internal channels in which a radiation source can be inserted. The plurality of internal channels includes multiple channels that include a curved portion and are spaced from a longitudinal axis of the elongated body. The internal channels spaced from the longitudinal axis of the elongated body can be curved and the plurality of internal channels can be oriented in a manner that permits the elongated body to assume a reduced diameter compared to multi-channel vaginal applicators of known construction and/or facilitates reduced anisotropy during brachytherapy treatment.
