A fixed-dose auto-disable syringe and locking clip therefor, the syringe having a barrel with an axial fluid chamber length reduced by approximately 20% to 40%, achieved by removing a non-functional proximal barrel portion while preserving the inner diameter, distal geometry, and fill volume. The auto-disable mechanism comprises a stamped stainless steel open-arc locking clip carrying three inwardly directed tabs evenly spaced at approximately 85 degree intervals that engage plunger rod serrations and maintain coaxial alignment of plunger rod with barrel axis, and two outwardly directed tabs that embed in the barrel inner wall to prevent reuse. A circumferential gap of approximately 104 degrees permits lateral placement of clip onto the plunger rod at predetermined dose-setting axial position. A frangible reduced-diameter section in plunger rod fractures at controlled force upon any reuse attempt, rendering the syringe permanently unusable. An alternative embodiment provides an integrally moulded plunger rod and piston.
