A fluid processing procedure, such as an apheresis procedure, is performed by a fluid processing device including one or more components configured to direct fluid flow, a container pressure sensor system, and a controller operably connected to the container pressure sensor system. A method of determining a flow condition in the fluid processing procedure includes receiving a signal from the container pressure sensor system indicative of a pressure in a tube fluidically connected to and directly below a fluid container, determining a flow condition using the received signal, and controlling the at least one of the one or more components based on the determined flow condition.
