A reusable outer cover for forming an absorbent article, wherein an absorbent insert may be detachably attached to the cover, is disclosed. The cover includes first and second side portions extending transversally on opposite sides of a chassis portion. The first and second side portions are permanently attached to the chassis portion along first and second side attachment segments, respectively, thus defining a side portion length. The chassis portion includes a main member and a flap member. The flap member is arranged with an outward facing side facing an inward facing side of the main member to form a pocket. The flap member is permanently attached to the main member along first and second flap attachment segments of the second chassis side edge which define a waist region length. The side portion length extends by a longitudinal distance beyond the waist region length in the direction towards the transversal axis.
A reusable outer cover for forming an absorbent article wherein an absorbent insert is adapted to be detachably attached to the outer cover, the outer cover having a front portion to be directed towards a front of a wearer, a back portion to be directed towards a back of a wearer, and a crotch portion extending between the front portion and the back portion, the outer cover extending along a longitudinal central axis, and along a transversal central axis, which is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, the transversal central axis dividing the outer cover into a front half and a back half, and a thickness axis is defined perpendicular to both the longitudinal and transversal axes, wherein inward direction is defined along the thickness axis being the direction towards a wearer when the outer cover is worn, and an outward direction is defined along the thickness axis being the direction away from the wearer when the outer cover is worn,
