A floor treatment machine including a chassis, a cleaning implement assembly, and an evaluation module. The cleaning implement assembly includes a cleaning implement a height adjustment unit operable to adjust an elevation of the cleaning implement relative to a floor surface beneath the chassis. The evaluation module includes a sensor and a controller. The sensor is configured to sense a parameter indicative of the elevation of the cleaning implement relative to the floor surface. The controller evaluates a performance characteristic of the cleaning implement based upon the sensed parameter. The sensed parameter can be an electrical signal of an actuator and the controller can predict a wear condition of the cleaning implement. In other embodiments, the sensor is an image sensor arranged to obtain image(s) of the floor surface, and the controller is programmed to determine an engagement pattern generated by the cleaning implement on the floor surface.
A floor treatment machine comprising:
A method of operating a floor treatment machine in performing a cleaning operation on a floor surface, the floor treatment machine including a cleaning implement assembly having a cleaning implement, a drive motor operable to rotate the cleaning element, and a height adjustment unit operable to adjust a height of the cleaning implement relative to a floor surface, the method comprising:
