Release device for fishing cable

A release device for fishing cable comprising:

• a first tube unit defining an inner cavity, the first tube unit configured to be connected to a fishing assembly;
• a piston unit in the inner cavity of the first tube unit to separate the inner cavity in a first chamber and a second chamber, with at least one fluid passage between the first chamber and the second chamber to allow fluid flow at least from the first chamber to the second chamber;
• a biasing member biasing the piston unit to a resting position;
• a piston rod unit connected to the piston unit for moving therewith, the piston rod unit projecting out of the first tube unit;
• a second tube unit connected to the piston rod unit so as to move therewith;
• and
• a detachable connector configured to be connected to the fishing assembly such that the fishing assembly is segmented by the release device, the detachable connector being operatively connected to the piston rod unit and/or the second tube unit to concurrently define a trigger release mechanism, the detachable connector detaching from a remainder of the release device when the piston unit reaches a release position;
• wherein the release device is configured to reach the release position for a load L2 of a duration T2 in the fishing assembly, and to keep the detachable connector operatively connected to the piston rod unit and/or second tube unit for a load L1 of a duration T1 in the fishing assembly, wherein L1>L2 and T1<T2.
