Embodiments of the disclosed subject matter may provide a device may include a substrate, a first electrode, a second electrode, an organic layer disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and the organic layer comprises an emitter material. The OLED may include an outcoupling layer having wavelength-sized or sub-wavelength sized features and the outcoupling layer may include a spacer layer and/or an overlayer. The spacer layer and/or the overlayer comprises a plurality of pores that are at least partially surrounded by a material. The OLED may include a reflector layer disposed on a second side of the organic layer, wherein the second side is opposite the first side, and wherein the reflector layer is configured such that at least 5% of light generated by the organic layer capable of being reflected by the reflector layer radiatively couples to the enhancement layer to form a photon-induced plasmon (PIP).
