Abstract
A method for operating a security system, the method comprising: receiving an indication of an object in a premises; determining, responsive to receiving the indication, to assign an identity to the object based on the indication; tracking movement of the object on the premises; determining, based on the movement, whether to maintain the identity assigned to the object; and in response to determining not to maintain the identity assigned to the object, generating at least one output by the security system.
Claims29
A security system comprising
- a sensor communication interface configured to communicate with a plurality of sensors;
- an output interface;
- and
- at least one processor in communication with the communication interface, the at least one processor configured to:
- receive, via the sensor communication interface, sensor data from one or more of the plurality of sensors;
- determine, from a plurality of tiers, a respective tier associated with the sensor data;
- determine, based on the sensor data and the respective tier, whether to change a state of the security system;
- in response to determining to change the state of the security system, change the state of the security system;
- and
- determine, based on the changed state of the security system, whether to generate an output via the output interface.
A method for identifying a person on a premises, the method comprising:
- receiving sensor input indicative of presence of a person on the premises;
- detecting mobile electronics in or around the premises;
- determining, by a security system based on movement associated with the mobile electronics or communication associated with the mobile electronics, an identity of the person on the premises;
- and
- in response to failing to determine the identity of the person, generating at least one output by the security system.
A method for identifying a person on a premises, the method comprising:
- receiving an indication of movement of a vehicle on the premises;
- accessing profiles associated with the movement of the vehicle on the premises;
- recording sensor input;
- comparing the accessed profiles and the recorded sensor input;
- determining, based on the comparison of the accessed profiles and the recorded sensor input, an identity of the person on the premises;
- and
- in response to failing to determine the identity of the person, generating at least one output by the security system.
A method for operating a multi-tier security system in a premises, the method comprising:
- receiving an indication of movement of a person in a first tier of the premises;
- in response to receiving the indication of movement of the person in the first tier of the premises, determining an identity of the person;
- receiving an indication of movement in a second tier of the premises, the second tier being closer in proximity to a dwelling on the premises than the first tier;
- determining whether the indication of movement in the second tier of the premises is unauthorized;
- in response to determining that the indication of movement in the second tier of the premises is unauthorized and that identity of the person is determined, performing a first action;
- and
- in response to determining that the indication of movement in the second tier of the premises is unauthorized and that identity of the person is not determined, performing a second action, the second action being different from the first action.
A method for operating a security system, the method comprising:
- receiving an indication of a person in a premises;
- determining, based on the indication, to assign an identity to the person based on the indication;
- tracking movement of the person on the premises;
- determining, based on the tracked movement, whether to maintain the assigned identity to the person;
- and
- in response to determining not to maintain the assigned identity to the person, generating at least one output by the security system in order to receive input from the person regarding identification information.
