Adaptive Workload Management Using Predictive Models In Storage Systems

A storage system comprising:

• a plurality of storage devices;
• and
• a storage system controller, operatively coupled to the plurality of storage devices, configured to:
• provide operating data associated with the plurality of storage devices to one or more models configured to generate a predicted operating condition for at least one storage device;
• determine whether execution of a workload by the plurality of storage devices results in the predicted operating condition;
• and
• in response to determining that execution of the workload results in the predicted operating condition, adjust execution of the workload across the plurality of storage devices to prevent the predicted operating condition.

A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions which, when executed, cause a storage system controller to:

• provide operating data associated with a plurality of storage devices to one or more models configured to generate a predicted operating condition for at least one storage device of the plurality of storage devices;
• determine whether execution of a workload by the plurality of storage devices results in the predicted operating condition;
• and
• in response to determining that execution of the workload results in the predicted operating condition, adjust execution of the workload across the plurality of storage devices to prevent the predicted operating condition.
