Information processing apparatus and control method

A control method for an information processing apparatus including:

• a communication unit configured to perform data communication with a server through a communication network;
• a memory configured to temporarily store a program of a system;
• a processor configured to execute processing of the system based on the program stored in the memory;
• and a detection sensor configured to detect presence or absence of a person in a predetermined detection range, the control method comprising:
• a step of transmitting a flag indicative of being on standby from the communication unit to the server through the communication network when the system becomes a standby state;
• a step of starting execution of the specific processing when acquiring an execution request for specific processing from the server in response to transmitting the flag;
• a step of stopping the execution when the presence of a person is detected in the detection range using the detection sensor while executing the specific processing;
• and
• a step of transmitting, from the communication unit to the server through the communication network, an execution result before the stop and incomplete information indicating that the specific processing is incomplete.
