Abstract
A network device is provided. In one example, a network device includes a plurality of ports to receive data from at least one source device; and one or more circuits to control a data transmission rate of the at least one source device based on a number of ports of the plurality of ports transitioning from a first state to a second state.

A network device, comprising:
- a plurality of ports to receive data from at least one source device;
- and
- one or more circuits to control a data transmission rate of the at least one source device based on a number of ports of the plurality of ports transitioning from a first state to a second state.
A system, comprising:
- a network device;
- and
- one or more circuits to control a data transmission rate of at least one source device based on a number of ports of the network device transitioning from an idle state to an active state.
A system for managing inrush current in a network device, the system comprising:
- one or more circuits to alternate sending a first control signal and a second control signal to a source device until a data transmission rate of the source device reaches a threshold data transmission rate, wherein the first control signal instructs the source device to cease data transmission, and wherein the second control signal instructs the source device to resume data transmission.
