Abstract
A star coupler device includes a substrate and a coupler unit disposed on the substrate. The coupler unit includes plural first optical power splitters and plural second optical power splitters connected to the first optical power splitters, and the coupler unit includes M first inputs and N first outputs. While a first light including P first input wavelengths is input to the M first inputs, an output light power of each of the N first outputs is equal to 1/M of a total energy of P first input wavelengths of a first light input to the M first inputs, in which N and M are positive integers, and P is an integer.
Claims17
A star coupler device, comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- at least one first coupler unit disposed on the substrate, wherein the at least one first coupler unit comprises:
- a plurality of first optical power splitters;
- and
- a plurality of second optical power splitters connected to the first optical power splitters;
- wherein the at least one first coupler unit comprises M first inputs and N first outputs;
- and
- wherein the at least one first coupler unit is configured such that an output light power of each of the N first outputs is equal to 1/M of a total energy of P first input wavelengths of a first light input to the M first inputs, wherein N and M are positive integers, and P is an integer.
A star coupler device, comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- at least one first coupler unit disposed on the substrate, wherein the at least one first coupler unit comprises:
- a plurality of first optical power splitters;
- and
- a second optical power splitter connected to the first optical power splitters;
- wherein the at least one first coupler unit comprises M first inputs/outputs;
- and
- wherein the at least one first coupler unit is configured such that an output light power of each of the M first inputs/outputs is equal to 1/M of a total energy of P first input wavelengths of a first light input to the M first inputs/outputs, wherein M is a positive integer, and P is an integer.
