Abstract

A fluid analysis system for determining a concentration of a detergent component in a fluid includes a light source configured to illuminate the fluid with light. The light includes a first wavelength corresponding to an excitation wavelength of the detergent component. The system also includes a detection unit positioned and configured to measure an intensity of the resultant fluorescence generated by the detergent component. The system further includes a processing unit configured to determine the concentration based on the measured intensity by means of fluorescence spectroscopy. The resultant fluorescence includes monomer emission and excimer emission of the component. For determining the concentration, the processing unit is configured to perform ratiometric fluorescence spectroscopy on the measured intensity.
