Thermal imaging camera device

A camera system comprising:

• an image sensor configured to generate image data corresponding to a monitored environment;
• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more computer-readable hardware storage media storing instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to cause the camera system to:
• control movement of the image sensor among a plurality of rotational positions associated with different regions of the monitored environment;
• while the image sensor is oriented at each one of the plurality of rotational positions, cause the image sensor to generate a corresponding set of one or more images for each rotational position, such that multiple sets of images are generated;
• compile the multiple sets of images into one or more data streams comprising a multi-degree field of view of the monitored environment;
• based on the multi-degree field of view of the monitored environment, detect an object, an event, or an environmental condition occurring within the monitored environment;
• and
• in response to detecting the object, the event, or the environmental condition:
• modify operation of the camera system, generate an alert, or transmit at least a portion of the one or more data streams to one or more external computing devices.

A method for operating a camera system, the method comprising:

• controlling movement of an image sensor to cause the image sensor to be oriented toward a plurality of rotational positions associated with different regions of a monitored environment;
• while the image sensor is oriented at each one of the plurality of rotational positions, cause the image sensor to generate a corresponding set of one or more images for each rotational position, such that multiple sets of images of the monitored environment are generated;
• compiling the one or more images into one or more data streams;
• based on the multi-degree field of view of the monitored environment, detecting an object, an event, or an environmental condition based on the one or more images;
• and
• in response to detecting the object, the event, or the environmental condition:
• modifying operation of the camera system, transmitting at least one data stream to one or more external computing devices, or generating an alert.

A monitoring system comprising:

• a plurality of cameras configured to generate image data corresponding to a monitored environment;
• one or more processors;
• and
• one or more computer-readable hardware storage media storing instructions that are executable by the one or more processors to cause the monitoring system to:
• receive image data from the plurality of cameras;
• compile the image data into a combined image representation;
• detect an object, an event, or an environmental condition based on the image data;
• and
• in response to detecting the object, the event, or the environmental condition:
• modify monitoring behavior of one or more of the plurality of cameras, transmit an alert, or transmit at least a portion of the image data to one or more external computing devices.
