Server Configured to Communicate with Map Processing Device and Communication Method

Abstract

A server communicates with a map processing device, which processes map information used for positioning a host vehicle. The server receives information from the map processing device including, for each node point, information corresponding to an azimuth angle and an elevation angle, information on a shielded state, an antenna height, a division of the antenna height, a reliability index of output information, and time information. The server updates the information from the map processing device using at least one of the reliability index and the time information based on at least the information corresponding to the azimuth angle and the elevation angle and the information on the shielded state for each node point. The server updates a stored shielded state with a received shielded state using at least one of the reliability index and the time information. A communication method for the server is also provided.
