Abstract
A clothing processing device includes a cabinet, an inner case provided inside the cabinet, a door coupled to the cabinet, a hanger provided at the inner case, a machine room provided below the inner case, and an exhaust duct configured to discharge air into the inner case, a filter configured to filter dust flowing into the machine room, a light emitter configured to emit light toward the filter and the inner case, a sensor configured to detect the light passing through the filter part, and a control system that determines whether the clothing has fallen and whether the filter part is installed based on an amount of the light detected by the sensor.

1-19. (canceled)
A clothing treatment apparatus, comprising:
- a cabinet having an opening defined at a front portion thereof;
- an inner case that is disposed in the cabinet and defines a space configured to accommodate clothes;
- a door coupled to the cabinet and configured to open and close the opening;
- a hanger disposed at an upper portion of the inner case and configured to hold the clothes;
- a machine compartment provided below a bottom surface of the inner case, the machine compartment comprising (i) an inflow body configured to receive air from the inner case and (ii) an exhaust duct configured to discharge air to the inner case;
- a filter configured to be installed at the inflow body and configured to filter dust from the air introduced into the inflow body;
- a light emitter disposed at the machine compartment and configured to emit light toward the filter and an inside of the inner case;
- and
- a sensor disposed at the inner case or the door, the sensor being configured to detect the light that was emitted from the light emitter and has passed through the filter,
- wherein the sensor is disposed closer to the bottom surface of the inner case than the hanger.
A clothing treatment apparatus comprising:
- a cabinet;
- an inner case that is disposed in the cabinet and defines a space configured to accommodate clothes;
- a hanger disposed at an upper portion of the inner case and configured to hold the clothes;
- a machine compartment provided below the inner case, the machine compartment comprising (i) an inflow body configured to receive air from the inner case and (ii) an exhaust duct configured to discharge air to the inner case;
- a filter configured to be installed at the inflow body and configured to filter dust from the air introduced into the machine compartment from the inner case;
- a light emitter spaced apart from the filter and configured to emit light toward the filter and the inner case;
- a sensor configured to detect the light that was emitted from the light emitter and has passed through the filter;
- and
- a controller configured to, based on an amount of the light detected by the sensor, determine at least one of (i) whether the clothes have fallen from the hanger, (ii) whether the filter is installed at the inflow body, or (iii) a contamination level of the filter,
- wherein the controller is configured to:
- based on receiving a first value from the sensor, determine that the filter is installed at the inflow body and that the clothes have not fallen from the hanger,
- based on receiving a value less than the first value from the sensor, determine that the clothes have fallen from the hanger, and
- based on receiving a value greater than the first value from the sensor, determine that the filter is not installed at the inflow body.
A clothing treatment apparatus comprising:
- a cabinet having an opening defined at a front portion thereof;
- an inner case that is disposed in the cabinet and defines a space configured to accommodate clothes;
- a door coupled to the cabinet and configured to open and close the opening;
- a hanger disposed at an upper portion of the inner case and configured to hold the clothes;
- a machine compartment that is fluidly connected to the inner case, the machine compartment accommodating (i) a heater configured to generate steam to be supplied to the inner case and (ii) a compressor configured to compress a refrigerant to exchange heat with air supplied to the inner case;
- a filter disposed at the machine compartment and configured to filter dust from air introduced into the machine compartment from the inner case;
- a light emitter spaced apart from the filter and configured to emit light toward the filter and the inner case;
- a sensor configured to detect the light that was emitted from the light that emitter and has passed through the filter;
- and
- a controller configured to configured to control at least one of the heater, the compressor, or the sensor,
- wherein the controller is configured to:
- based on an amount of the light detected by the sensor, determine at least one of (i) whether the clothes have fallen from the hanger or (ii) whether the filter is installed at the machine compartment, and
- suppress an operation of at least one of the heater or the compressor based on determining at least one of (i) that the clothes have fallen from the hanger or (ii) that the filter is not installed at the machine compartment.
