Abstract
The invention relates to compositions comprising an elastomeric polymer and 50 phr (parts per 100 parts of the polymer) or more HTC lignin, whereby the HTC lignin has a particle size D90 as determined by ISO 13320:2020 of 5 μm or more and a STSA surface area of 40 m2/g or less as determined by ASTM D 6556-14. The invention also provides an article comprising the composition and the use of the composition in a gas barrier.

Composition comprising an elastomeric polymer and 50 phr (parts per 100 parts of the polymer) or more HTC lignin, whereby the HTC lignin has a particle size D90 as determined by ISO 13320:2020 of 5 μm or more and a STSA surface area of 40 m2/g or less as determined by ASTM D 6556-14.
Composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the HTC lignin is present in an amount of 60 to 100 phr, preferably 90 phr or more.
Composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the HTC lignin has an STSA surface area as determined by ASTM D 6556-14 below 30, preferably below 25, more preferably below 20, still more preferably below 15 and most preferably below 10 m2/g or less.
Composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the HTC lignin is present in an amount of 90 phr or more and has a surface area of 10 m2/g or less.
Composition according to any one of the preceding claims, wherein the D90 is 15 μm or more.
Article comprising the composition according to any one of the preceding claims.
