Abstract
An animal cell proliferation promoter contains a protein material having all of the following characteristics a) to c): a) protein content in a solid content is 70 mass % or greater; b) the nitrogen solubility index (NSI) is 80 or greater; and c) in measurement results of the molecular weight distribution, an area ratio of the protein material having 2000 Da or greater and less than 20000 Da is 30% or greater, and an area ratio of the protein material having 20000 Da or greater is 70% or less.

An animal cell proliferation promoter comprising a protein material having all of the following characteristics a) to c):
- a) protein content in a solid content is 70 mass % or greater;
- b) the nitrogen solubility index (NSI) is 80 or greater;
- and
- c) in measurement results of the molecular weight distribution, an area ratio of the protein material having 2000 Da or greater and less than 20000 Da is 30% or greater, and an area ratio of the protein material having 20000 Da or greater is 70% or less.
