Collapsible packaging system

A collapsible packaging assembly, comprising:

• an outer container including:
• a pair of panels configured to be coupled to one another to form a cavity therebetween, each of the pair of panels having a sidewall portion and an end wall portion, respectively,
• a bottom flap assembly extending from a lower horizontal fold line extending from each of the sidewall portions and the end wall portions, the bottom flap assembly including:
• a pair of receiving sidewall portions extending from the lower horizontal fold line at the sidewall portions, respectively, each of the pair of receiving sidewall portions having a pair of first ear apertures;
• and
• a pair of locking end wall portions extending from the lower horizontal fold line at the end wall portions, respectively, each of the pair of locking end wall portions having a pair of first ear members positioned spaced apart and at a distal end, a terminating end surface positioned to extend between each of the pair of first ear members, the terminating end surface being arcuate in shape;
• and
• a top flap assembly extending from an upper horizontal fold line extending from each of the sidewall portions and the end wall portions, the top flap assembly including:
• a second pair of receiving sidewall portions extending from the lower horizontal fold line at the sidewall portions, respectively, each of the second pair of receiving sidewall portions having a pair of second ear apertures;
• and
• a second pair of locking end wall portions extending from the lower horizontal fold line at the end wall portions, respectively, each of the second pair of locking end wall portions having a pair of second ear members positioned spaced apart and at a distal end, a second terminating end surface positioned to extend between each of the pair of second ear members, the second terminating end surface being arcuate in shape, and
• an inner cell in an assembled state positioned within the cavity, the inner cell having a plurality of longitudinal members and a plurality of lateral members releasably joined to define a plurality of unit cells,
• wherein in a bottom flaps assembled state, each of the pair of receiving sidewall portions and the pair of locking end wall portions are moved from an extended position into a folded position along the upper horizontal fold line such that each of the pair of first ear members are moved from an extended position into a bent position to be received into a corresponding pair of first ear apertures to releasably join together the pair of receiving sidewall portions and the pair of locking end wall portions and wherein the terminating end surface is positioned above the pair of receiving sidewall portions in a vertical direction to enclose at least portions of the inner cell within the cavity, and
• wherein in a top flaps assembled state, each of the second pair of receiving sidewall portions and the second pair of locking end wall portions are moved from an extended position into a folded position along the lower horizontal fold line such that each of the pair of second ear members are moved from a first extended position into a first bent position to be received into the corresponding pair of second ear apertures to releasably join together the second pair of receiving sidewall portions and the second pair of locking end wall portions and wherein the second terminating end surface is positioned above the second pair of receiving sidewall portions in the vertical direction to enclose at least portions of the inner cell within the cavity.
