Liquid discharge unit and liquid discharge apparatus

A liquid discharge unit comprising:

• a first head having a first nozzle face having first nozzles on the first nozzle face,
• the first head configured to discharge a liquid from the first nozzles in a discharge direction,
• a second head having a second nozzle face having second nozzles on the second nozzle face,
• the second head configured to discharge a liquid from the second nozzles in the discharge direction,
• one carriage configured to:
• mounting the first head and the second head;
• and
• movable in a main scanning direction orthogonal to the discharge direction;
• and
• a first cap, in the one carriage, configured to cap the first nozzle face of the first head;
• and
• a second cap, in the one carriage, configured to cap the second nozzle face of the second head,
• wherein the first head and the second head are independently movable between:
• a discharge position at which at least one of the first head or the second head discharges the liquid in the discharge direction;
• and
• a capped position at which at least one of the first cap or the second cap caps the first head or the second head.
