Abstract
A device for converting a starting material into a padding material for filling the empty volume in a container comprises a discharging section for discharging the padding material and a finishing unit which is arranged upstream of the discharging section and finishes the padding material. It is proposed that the finishing unit has a translationally movable carriage and a finishing section which is releasably and exchangeably fastened to the carriage and, by movement of the carriage, is at least partially movable into a conveying channel for the padding material.

Device for converting a starting material into a padding material for filling the empty volume in a container, comprising a discharging section for discharging the padding material and a finishing unit which is arranged upstream of the discharging section and which finishes the padding material, wherein the finishing unit has a translationally movable carriage and a finishing section which is releasably and exchangeably fastened to the carriage and which can be moved at least partially into a conveying channel for the padding material by a movement of the carriage.
