Abstract
The present disclosure relates to a mold assembly for manufacturing a composite part comprising a stack of pultruded plates and a fiber mat, the mold assembly comprises a mold and at least one fiber mat tensioner configured to provide tension to the fiber mat to hold the stack of pultruded plates. The present disclosure also relates to methods for manufacturing a composite part.

A method for manufacturing a composite part, the method comprising:
- providing tension to a fiber mat;
- stacking a plurality of pultruded plates to form a stack of pultruded plates, the stack of pultruded plates and the fiber mat having a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction;
- placing the stack of pultruded plates on the tensioned fiber mat;
- descending the fiber mat and stack of pultruded plates into a mold;
- and
- infusing the fiber mat and the stack of pultruded plates with a resin.

A mold assembly for manufacturing a composite part, the composite part formed of a stack of pultruded plates and a fiber mat, the mold assembly comprising:
- a mold having a longitudinal direction and a transverse direction;
- and
