Abstract
An intravascular therapy device (10) includes a catheter (12) having a guidewire lumen (16) configured to pass a guidewire (18) therethrough; and at least one arm (32) branching away from a distal end of the catheter at a nonzero angle respective to a central axis of the catheter. The at least one arm is configured to steer a tip of the guidewire away from the central axis of the catheter as the tip of the guidewire exits the guidewire lumen at the distal end of the catheter.
Claims15
An intravascular therapy device, comprising:
- a catheter having a guidewire lumen configured to pass a guidewire therethrough;
- and
- at least one arm branching away from a distal end of the catheter at a nonzero angle respective to a central axis of the catheter, the at least one arm configured to steer a tip of the guidewire away from the central axis of the catheter as the tip of the guidewire exits the guidewire lumen at the distal end of the catheter.
An intravascular therapy method, comprising:
- passing a guidewire through a guidewire lumen of a catheter;
- and
- using at least one arm of a device, steering a tip of the guidewire away from a central axis of the catheter as the tip of the guidewire exits the guidewire lumen at a distal end of the catheter.
