Abstract
This invention relates to agents, compositions, and methods for use in treating or ameliorating symptoms of cancer. Exemplary synergistic therapies include the use of antisense oligonucleotide agents for suppressing expression of TGF-β2, both alone and in combination with interferon-gamma. One or more biomarkers can be used to select subjects for treatment.

A method for treating or ameliorating the symptoms of cancer in subjects in need, the method comprising:
- selecting the subjects who have (a) one or both of JAK1 and STAT1 reduced and (b) TGF-β2 and IFNGR2 elevated;
- administering a composition comprising an agent for suppressing expression of TGF-β2;
- and
- administering a composition comprising interferon-gamma.
