Jigs, systems, and methods for correcting joint deformities

An apparatus, comprising:

• a body having a first body portion and a second body portion, the first body portion having a first side and an adjacent second side, the first side defining a first aperture and a second aperture, the second side defining a third aperture sized and configured to receive a first fixation member for coupling the first body portion to a first bone, the second body portion having a third side and an adjacent fourth side, the third side defining a fourth aperture and a fifth aperture, the fourth side defining a sixth aperture sized and configured to receive a second fixation member for coupling the second body portion to a second bone;
• a coupling member sized and configured to be received in the first aperture defined by the first body portion and in the fourth aperture defined by the second body portion;
• an adjustment member sized and configured to be received in the second aperture defined by the first body portion and in the fifth aperture defined by the second body portion, the adjustment member configured to be rotated to adjust a relative position of the first body portion and the second body portion;
• and
• a sleeve having a body portion sized and configured to be received in the third aperture, the body portion of the sleeve defining a seventh aperture sized and configured to receive a third fixation member.

A method, comprising:

• coupling a first body portion to a first bone;
• coupling a second body portion to a second bone;
• rotating an adjustment member that is at least partially disposed within the first body portion and the second body portion to adjust a relative position of the first bone and the second bone;
• inserting a first fixation member into a first hole defined by a sleeve that is at least partially received in an opening defined by the first body portion, the first fixation member extending into and through the first bone and into a third bone that is disposed adjacent to the first bone;
• removing the sleeve from the opening while the first body portion remains coupled to the first bone and the second body portion remains coupled to the second bone;
• and
• inserting a bone screw into the opening until the bone screw is at least partially disposed in the first bone and the third bone.

A system, comprising:

• an apparatus including a body having a first body portion and a second body portion, the first body portion having a first side and an adjacent second side, the first side defining a first aperture and a second aperture, the second side defining a third aperture sized and configured to receive a first fixation member for coupling the first body portion to a first bone, the second body portion having a third side and an adjacent fourth side, the third side defining a fourth aperture and a fifth aperture, the fourth side defining a sixth aperture sized and configured to receive a second fixation member for coupling the second body portion to a second bone, a coupling member sized and configured to be received in the first aperture defined by the first body portion and in the fourth aperture defined by the second body portion, and an adjustment member sized and configured to be received in the second aperture defined by the first body portion and in the fifth aperture defined by the second body portion, the adjustment member configured to be rotated to adjust a relative position of the first body portion and the second body portion;
• and
• a placement device including a handle portion and a coupling portion, the coupling portion defining a recess sized and configured to receive at least one of the coupling member and the adjustment member for coupling the placement device to the apparatus.
