A system and a computer-implemented method for acquiring electrical signals from a subject, the system comprising: a) at least one electrode, the electrode comprising: a support configured to resemble a hair and configured to be partially implanted through hair implant techniques onto the skin surface of a subject at a dermal or subdermal depth through its proximal end, and registering means provided on the proximal end of the support and configured to register an electrical signal associated to an event below the skin surface; and b) a mount configured to be placed over the skin of a subject, the mount comprising: at least one electrically conductive surface on the internal face of the mount; and processing means configured to process the signals obtained through the at least one electrically conductive surface. The support of the at least one electrode is essentially longitudinal, the at least one electrode further comprises conductive means configured to electrically connect the registering means on the proximal end with the distal end of the support; and the mount is configured to electrically interface with the conductive means at the distal end of the at least one electrode through the at least one electrically conductive surface and process the electrical signal registered by the registering means through the processing means.
