Dual-layer lightweight nursing cover

A nursing garment system, comprising:

• a dual-layer nursing cover having a top layer with a cowl neckline, an under layer with a chest opening, and side openings with invisible zippers between the layers;
• a snap tab and snap loop assembly for securing a user's shirt to the under layer;
• and
• a carrying pouch having a zippered closure for storing the nursing cover.

A method of providing discreet breastfeeding privacy, comprising:

• positioning a dual-layer nursing cover over a user's clothing, the nursing cover having a top layer with a cowl neckline and an under layer with a chest opening;
• accessing the user's clothing through side openings between the layers;
• lifting the user's clothing and securing the lifted clothing to the under layer using a snap attachment mechanism;
• and
• positioning an infant for breastfeeding through the chest opening while maintaining privacy coverage with the top layer.
