The cooling plate has a first horizontal dimension and a second vertical dimension, where the first horizontal dimension is greater than the second vertical dimension.
Claims20
A system for making a frozen food or drink, comprising:
- a base unit comprising a cooling plate;
- and
- a cooling system disposed in the base unit and configured to cool the cooling plate,
- wherein the cooling plate has a first horizontal dimension and a second vertical dimension, and wherein the first horizontal dimension is greater than the second vertical dimension.

A system for making a frozen food or drink, comprising:
- a base unit comprising a cooling plate;
- a cooling system disposed in the base unit and configured to cool the cooling plate;
- a reservoir disposed on the cooling plate, wherein the reservoir includes a sidewall and a bottom plate, and the bottom plate is configured to hold content therein for cooling on the bottom plate via the cooling plate;
- and
- a mixing apparatus including a first arm, wherein the first arm is positioned to contact and scrape the bottom plate and the sidewall.
2 more elements
A method of making a frozen food or drink, comprising:
- passing a cooling liquid through at least one cooling coil disposed at least partially below a cooling plate, wherein the cooling plate has a first horizontal dimension and a second vertical dimension, the first horizontal dimension being greater than the second vertical dimension;
- placing at least one ingredient on a horizontal surface of the cooling plate;
- transferring heat from the at least one ingredient into the cooling liquid until the at least one ingredient is at least partially frozen;
- and
- removing the at least one ingredient that is at least partially frozen from the horizontal surface of the cooling plate.
