Abstract
An information handling system camera coupled by a bracket to a display to capture visual images in a field of view of the camera from a viewing position of the display. A housing contains a lens and image sensor mounted by a rotating member on a mounting base. The bracket has an interior that includes an image processor to process visual images captured by the image sensor. The image sensor interfaces through a flexible cable with the image processor. A camera actuator and microphone actuator associated with the mounting base track an end user in the camera field of view with logic executing in part on the image processor.
Claims20
An information handling system comprising:
- a processor operable to execute instructions to process information;
- a memory interfaced with the processor and operable to store the instructions and information;
- a display interfaced with the processor and operable to present the information as visual images;
- and
- a camera coupled to a perimeter of the display by a bracket and interfaced with the processor, the camera having a housing coupled to the bracket, the housing containing a lens aligned with an image sensor to capture visual images in a field of view, the bracket having a microphone engaged with a microphone actuator, the microphone actuator rotating the microphone to align with the field of view.
A method for directing a microphone towards an end user, the method comprising:
- coupling a lens and image sensor in a housing, the lens having a field of view;
- coupling the housing to a bracket;
- coupling the bracket to a display;
- coupling first and second microphones in the bracket;
- coupling an audio processor in an interior of the bracket and interfaced with the first and second microphones;
- detecting the end user in the field of view;
- and
- commanding the microphone to rotate towards the end user.
A camera comprising:
- a housing;
- a bracket having an interior, the bracket configured to couple to a display;
- a lens coupled in the housing;
- an image sensor coupled in the housing and aligned with a lens to capture visual images of the lens field of view;
- an image processor coupled in the bracket interior;
- a microphone rotationally coupled to the bracket;
- and
- a microphone actuator coupled to the microphone and operable to rotate the microphone relative to the bracket and towards the field of view.
