Abstract

A shooting method applied to an electronic device such as a smartphone or a tablet computer. According to the method, the electronic device determines a most wonderful frame or a best frame, from images reported by a camera. After detecting a user shooting operation, the device generates a photo based on the most wonderful frame. The electronic device continues to obtain images for a period of after the shooting operation, and determines a new most wonderful frame. If the best frame after the shooting operation is better than the best frame before the shooting operation, a photo generated based on the best frame after the shooting operation is saved. This embodies user initiative in snapping and ensures the effect and quality of the final output photo, providing better shooting experience for the user.

Dependent claims

A method, comprising:

starting a camera application;
displaying a preview interface at a moment T1, wherein the preview interface comprises a preview area and a thumbnail area, and an image captured by a camera in real time is displayed in the preview area;
detecting a shooting operation at a moment T2, and displaying a thumbnail of a first photo in the thumbnail area in response to the shooting operation, wherein the first photo is obtained based on a first image, and the first image is an image captured by the camera after the moment T1 and before the moment T2;
and
displaying a thumbnail of a second photo in the thumbnail area in response to the shooting operation, wherein the second photo is obtained based on a second image, and the second image is an image captured by the camera at a moment that is after the moment T2 and that does not comprise the moment T2.

a camera;
one or more processors coupled to the camera;

one or more memories, coupled to the one or more processors, wherein the one or more memories are configured to store instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause the electronic device to be configured to:
start a camera application;
