According to an embodiment, a biasing circuit includes a high impedance bias stage coupled to sensor pads connected to a resistive sensor for detecting fly height in a hard disk drive. The circuit employs dual operational transconductance amplifiers with different bandwidths working in conjunction with switching circuitry to establish and maintain bias conditions. A first operational transconductance amplifier with a higher bandwidth provides fast initial settling, while a second operational transconductance amplifier with a lower bandwidth optimizes continuous operation. The architecture supports multiple operating modes, including differential voltage, differential current, and common mode configurations, through various arrangements of transistors, compensation capacitors, and feedback paths.
