Charging method, electronic device, and related apparatus

An electronic device, comprising one or more universal serial bus USB ports, a power delivery module, a control unit, and a power supply module, wherein the electronic device is connected to a first external device through a first USB port in the one or more USB ports, and

• the power delivery module is configured to send a first message to the first external device through the first USB port, wherein the first message comprises charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device;
• the power delivery module is configured to receive, from the first external device through the first USB port, a request for charging power of a first specification, wherein the charging power of the first specification is the charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device;
• the control unit is configured to control the power supply module to output the charging power of the first specification;
• the power delivery module is configured to output the charging power of the first specification to the first external device through the first USB port;
• the power delivery module is further configured to receive, from the first external device through the first USB port, a request for charging power of a second specification, wherein the charging power of the second specification comprises charging power of a highest charging level that can be received by the first external device, the charging power of the second specification is the charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device, and the charging power of the second specification is greater than the charging power of the first specification;
• the control unit is configured to control said power supply module to output the charging power of the second specification;
• and
• the power delivery module is configured to output the charging power of the second specification to the first external device through the first USB port.

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium, comprising instructions, wherein when the instructions are run on an electronic device which comprises one or more universal serial bus USB ports and is configured to be connected to a first external device through a first USB port in the one or more USB ports, the electronic device is enabled to perform operations comprising:

• sending a first message to the first external device through the first USB port, wherein the first message comprises charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device;
• receiving, from the first external device, a request for charging power of a first specification, wherein the charging power of the first specification is the charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device;
• outputting the charging power of the first specification to the first external device through the first USB port;
• receiving, from the first external device, a request for charging power of a second specification, wherein the charging power of the second specification comprises charging power of a highest charging level that can be received by the first external device, the charging power of the second specification is the charging power that the electronic device supports outputting to the first external device, and the charging power of the second specification is greater than the charging power of the first specification;
• and
• outputting the charging power of the second specification to the first external device through the first USB port.
