An adaptor board assembly, comprising:

• a first printed circuit board comprising a dielectric layer and first and second electrical ground layers on opposing sides of the dielectric layer, wherein the first printed circuit board has a width and length dimension, and wherein the first printed circuit board comprises a signal trace in the dielectric layer that extends along the length dimension and that extends only along outer facing ends of the first printed circuit board from a soldering pad;
• and
• a second printed circuit board comprising a dielectric layer and first and second electrical ground layers on opposing sides of the dielectric layer, wherein the second printed circuit board has a width and length dimension, wherein the second printed circuit board comprises a signal trace in the dielectric layer that extends along the length dimension and terminates at a soldering pad aligned with the soldering pad of the first printed circuit board, wherein at least one of the width and length dimension of the second printed circuit board is less than that of the first printed circuit board, wherein the second printed circuit board is coupled to the first printed circuit board, and wherein the signal trace of the second printed circuit board has a longer extent than the signal trace of the first printed circuit board to thereby provide a low loss signal path.
