Abstract

An active noise reduction device includes a canceling sound outputter configured to output a canceling sound for canceling a noise, a microphone configured to generate a microphone signal based on the noise, and a controller configured to control the canceling sound outputter based on the microphone signal. The controller includes at least one filter that can be adaptively updated, and the controller is configured to calculate a fluctuation of the microphone signal based on the microphone signal, and switch an operation of at least one of an adaptive update process and a canceling sound output process according to the fluctuation of the microphone signal. The adaptive update process is a process to adaptively update the filter, and the canceling sound output process is a process to cause the canceling sound outputter to output the canceling sound.
